Bookkeeping for Businesses
Whether you are a one man band or someone with 20 employees, good accounting can be the make or break of most business and maintaining good financial records are at the cornerstone of being able to produce good accounts.
Being successful in business often has little to do with being the most skilled professional and far more to do with being the best marketer and the best bookkeeper.
After all, if you don’t know how much you paid for an item of expenditure last quarter or last year, how can you say if it is still the right price? If you don’t know whether your clients have paid, how can you know the amounts that you are owed?
For many small businesses this is the area which is often left until it’s too late.
For some people it is a case of being just too busy. Perhaps they can earn more money spending time at their profession and it makes financial sense to pay somebody else to look after their books. For others, they maybe simply don’t have the natural organisational ability to keep good books. Again, they may be the best barrister or the best bricklayer in the world, but this simply isn't their area of expertise.

Bookkeeping for individuals.
At Chelmsford Accounts we offer both bookeeping on a monthly basis and "one off" bookkeeping services.
Our "one off" bookkeeping service can be a great help to someone dealing with the estate of a deceased relative or trying to put their own affairs in order, often after having been diagnosed with the onset of dementia or a terminal illness.
If you want to know what you have, where you have it, and who and how to contact in order to make any changes, we can do the leg work for you. We will even draft the appropriate letters for you if needed.
Our monthly package can used as a personal organiser. We can let you know when your insurances are due for renewal, your MOT and car tax, what your telephone company is charging you as well as how much you paid last time as well as helping you to keep tabs on the values of your investments and debts.
A simple spreadsheet will allow you to access your policy numbers, your company providers, as well as the telephone and contact details should you need to contact them at any time. Even your passport numbers and renewal dates can be added should you wish. This can be supplied in paper form or on a password protected spreadsheet.
Please note that will never ask you for passwords or access to any of your affairs and any transactions will still be the responsibility of yourself, the trustees, or the person holding power of attorney as applicable.
So if you are confronted with reams of paperwork and statements and do not know where to begin, why not let us do the work for you.
